Steve Myers
Myers went to high
school with Joe Ripple, and the two have remained friends ever since.
An accomplished
make-up artist, Myers joined
Timewarp Films to create make-up for a test scene for Dead Hunt, a
zombie project that has been temporarily postponed. He subsequently
provided blood and make-up effects for Vampire
Sisters and Crawler (now in
post-production). Myers uses the “old school” techniques that been
proven time and again throughout the industry.
In addition to his
make-up work, (he lists Dick
Smith and Rick Baker as his major influences and mentors), Myers is a
professional magician, ventriloquist and commedy writer.
He is the proud owner
of a mint 1970 Cadillac Miller-Meteor hearse.
It’s all original, right down to the hubcaps and caskets rollers.
The hearse is on
display during an annual Halloween
attraction, The
Cox’s Point Haunted Mansion, which is Maryland’s oldest
haunted attraction. Since 1997, the Haunted Mansion’s special effects
and frights department has been headed by Myers. He has brought many
innovations to the attraction, such as 3-D interactive imagery,
“Show-Tech” sound/scene effects cueing, full-body reverse “Pepper’s
Ghost” FX, and custom audio-animatronics.
